    Rosie

    Heres Rosie

It took about ten minutes from the time we left to when the bonding began. I had placed her in the bed and drove down Shaw Avenue when she decided that my lap was her resting place. She laid down and looked up into my eyes for more than 1/2 hour. I placed her on the seat next to me and we would stop about every 1/2 hour and take a small walk.

I called Diane and gave her updates on the events. When I got to Sacramento I called and told Diane that it was getting late and she could go to bed and see Rosie in the morning, guess who was standng at the front door when we drove up. They bonded instantly and Rosie would glance at me frequently to make sure I was still there.

We had a little bed mde for her and there were a couple of blankets on the floor that I use when I can't sleep and go out and watch the news in the early morning. In a matter of minutes Rosie left the bed and laid down on the blankets where she rested for the rest of the night. I slept on the couch to keep an eye on her and she would wake up every time I moved then go back to sleep.

On the way back home she would not drink water, so I stopped and got some soft chedder cheese snacks and broke off a few small pieces, she instantly ate them and then drank a little water. At that time I knew all was right as a dog will not eat when they are stressed.

Her body temperature was a little high and was still quiet in the morning. Diane got to spend some time with her and they did fine. She has the same markings and affection as our first dog together named Peppy. Even her marking and facial features were identical. The picture of Rosie attached is a toy chest that Mickie, our Pappion, had and when we showed her the toys she crawled in and in moments she was resting in the bed.

I must give my most fond thanks for all involved in bringing this joy to our empty nest. Thank you again for all you and your family do to help these prescious critters to a better life. Ron & diane

    Star

I am happy to report that Star and I have been going on many long hikes into the Ansel Adams wilderness. She has chased about a million lizards, squirrels, grasshoppers, frogs and what have you. She has dug half way to China trying to figure out where some squirrels have gone. She has played in creeks and lakes and I believe had her first encounter with snow. After a few sniffs and tentative paws it was frolic time in the snow. Her exuberance at times annoys my 12 year old Border Collie and he has to smack her down occasionally. Star makes every effort to keep on Jaspers good side though. Next week Star will be spending the entire week in the wilderness with me. She is a delightful companion and quite friendly to all she meets on the trails.

    Thor

It was love at first sight. How can you not love a guy in a shirt? Thor is living in the lap of luxury or any lap if he can find one. He is pampered from head to toe and loves his human parents.

    Curley the Poodly

Curley, the sweet, well-mannered poodle, got lost one day when he was out on an adventure. (Probably because he was not neutered.) He came to the SPCA and when his family did not come for him, he was lucky and was put up for adoption. He sat at the SPCA for four months waiting to be adopted. He would greet every person who came by with eager eyes and an adorable tilt of his head. Day after day he waited for someone to take him home and love him. After four months of waiting and living in a concrete kennel, Curley began to give up. He no longer waited at the gate with hope. Instead he stayed at the back of the kennel and barely looked up when people walked by. Then Curley's time was up. He couldn't get adopted so he was scheduled to be disposed of. But someone saw something in him and had been waiting for the time that the shelter gave up on him. Curley came to ACT and to a foster home where he learned once again how to play and be a dog again. Three days after Curley came to the ACT, a kind, patient man came into the Adoption Center to adopt him. That day Curley went home to begin a wonderful life with his new forever family.

    Mushu
    Mushu

Wow! I have a had a busy week! I went to work with my new mom everyday. It was fun! They have 2 big dogs and one little dog. They all love to play. Sherman (he's the biggest) and I love to chase the balls. It's like a park over there! My new brother, Jasper, got to go to all day play at Wag while I found my bearings at work. At night though, we play and I sleep on top of him by Mom and Dad. I hear I leave for a short trip tomorrow. I think we are going to Aspen and Vail. Guess what? I'll be flying on a private jet! Who would've thought! Oh, I got a new collar! I don't know what color it is but it's very comfy! I also got to go on walks with 2 babies at work. They said I can come to work whenever I want! I'll never be alone! My new human brother is wonderful! I snuggle with him while he does his homework and he plays ball with me too! Jasper hasn't figured out that you are supposed to bring the ball back though. He just takes it to his "comfy" and buries it. Don't worry I'll teach him! I can't thank you enough for taking care of me when I was all by myself and finding me a forever home! Thank you! I was told that pictures of me and my new adventures will be coming soon! Love always, Mushu
